THE IONIC DETECTORS, MFDs and LRLs
A nice name ... but
You can find a multitude of advertisements on various internet sites that talk about a device right out of a Jules Verne science fiction novel in which they claim to be able to detect precious metal from far awaylet me repeat it, from far away. Some are called Long Range Locaters (LRLS) others Molecular Frequency Discriminator/Generators (MFDs) or Ionic locator devices, all making outrageous claims of being able to locate precious metals from great distances. Why wont this work? Simple, there is no reason for it to work based on any real scientific principles. It is easy to fall for the hype if you have no knowledge or only a basic knowledge of physics or electronics. One should not confuse these for ionic detectors that are used to detect smoke, (ionized gases), indeed this type of detector exists and works well for the detection of gasesbut one cannot make a remote metal detector from it.
The truth is that a deposit of metal can only be located by simply passing over it with a good metal detector. This concept is based in science. A signal is transmitted, reflected off of the metal target and then the signal is received, a process we can duplicate time and time again. The problem with the manufacturers of these long range locaters is that they claim to be able to specifically find gold and to find it from a mile to many miles away and from 30 feet into the ground to almost unlimited depth. Who would believe this? How have they proven that their device works? They continue to make these promises and people continue to purchase these devices only to be given excuse after excuse when the device fails to produce precious metals as advertised. I am amazed this technology is for sale!
We repeat, ionic fields and other electrostatic elements or bio-ionic all terms and jargon they use to overwhelm us with information that on the surface seems scientific and to convince us to purchase one of these miracle metal detectorsit all sounds so good but not even the manufacturer can begin to explain the concept scientifically. To this day no one has been able to successfully demonstrate one of these devices or explain the alleged abilities using scientific principles. We learn nothing except what is published on the website and none of it is based on science. Please refer to http://www.geotech.thunting.com for the truth about all commercial models of Ionic, Molecular Frequency Discriminator or Long Range Locator.
Dowsing has it positives and negatives. Each person is free to believe whatever they want but please keep a vigilant eye and do not believe everything they say or write, maintain a certain level of skepticism especially because they indeed take us for fools. Again, ask for proof of any treasure finds using this method and never give your money to someone that claims they can show you where a treasure is by using dowsing or map dowsing. Think about it, if they know where it is why dont they go and get it!
We repeat once again; in order to detect metal objects buried in the ground it is necessary to put boots on the ground and pass a metal detector over top of the buried metal. No matter whether you use a VLF or a pulse detector that is the only scientific and proven way to detect metals. Your metal detector dealer should be able to advise you on the ideal detector to match your budget and detecting needs. If it is power you want and extreme depth your only choice is the Deepers line of detectors, guaranteed not to disappoint you. Tested and proven this detector is used by serious treasure hunters and prospectors in over 25 countries around the world. We have equipped a number of international expeditions and our detectors are renowned for their power and quality.
